Joining the second cruise

 Joining the second cruise

We started late. we did not have to be out of our accommodation until 11am. So we made the most of it.  Kearie went back to the supermarket, which wasn't that far when you weren't hauling luggage.  I waited in the lounge area of the hotel until she returned.  Air conditioning, yes!!

I noticed as we were waiting that the Puerto Rican cars are like American cars and only have the rego plate on the back of the car and nothing on the front.  Which is annoying when you are waiting for an uber and you go by the licence plate.  Countries are so different, England have a different colour for the front and the back of the rego plate, one white, one yellow,  we have the same colour, back and front.  In the Bahamas they had different coloured plates for the differnet vehicle usage.  Private cars are a blue/green colur, taxi's are yellow, government cars are red and the white backround, starting with a red S, were rental cars.  So it is entertaining to observe all the differences.

No front plate

We still had about 3 hours to kill until we could board the ship. Neither of us was in the mood for hauling our luggse all over San Juan, so we just waited in the shade outside the hotel, until about 1.30pm.  We called an Uber and he took us to the wrong pier, but never mind, we could walk to the next one.  I was glad it was the wrong one, as it had people lined up for miles and our ship had no real line at all.  We just got onboard, about an hour before we had booked our arrival.  It was brilliant.  Royal Caribbean has that covered in spades.

This ship os older and a bit different, but so far so good

We we really relieved to finally get to our room, no porthole this time, but the room is comfortable enough.  We had a rest, Kearie was really exhausted as she had a bad night last night.  We then went and played trivia and then did the art challenge.  We did that on the last ship and got 18 out of 20 right, so we may do okay, no idea yet.  We had dinner in the windjammer, which is the buffet type eatery.  We will try the restaurant tomorrow night probably.

We have gotten our maps for tomorrows port and for the shopping, we also have a tour of the island booked.

Tortola, the British Cirgin Islands is our first port of call.

I will let you know what it was like

Cheers for now
Lones
