Leaving Bahamas and arriving Puerto RIco

Our 4th day was mainly travel.  Our plane left Nassau at 7.45am.  Rules say you must be at the airporet 3 hours early, Kearie decided 2,5 hrs was good enough.  Luckily she did.  We booked in to our flight and when we went to go through security, they don't open until 6am.  Kearie was quite annoyed, why make you come early when you can't get through security, we had to wait in line for 30 minutes and then they didn't open at 6.30 anyway, they were running late by about 5 minutes.

Once through security, we were putting our shoes back on and getting organised when a nice young chap from security, maybe late teens, early twenties, tried to give me a walker, yes a bloody WALKER!! I just looked at him and then was like, I don't need that.  I honestly thought he took one look at me and went "Old lady needs a walker", but apparently it was in the large items and had gone through security and he was trying to find the owner.  So he grabs the walker and heads to the first elderly person he sees... tell me I'm old, without telling me I'm old!!  I was not impressed, Kearie thought it was hilarious and was giggling her head off. Bloody walker indeed, I am not that old!! Yet..

Once we arrived in Miami, we had about a 3 hour stoppover, so  we got something to eat and chilled.  The flight to San Juan was rather odd.  I have never experienced a slower boarding system in my life.  We were last to board, but the line in the tunnel to the plane, was so slow.  You would walk maybe 8 to 10 steps and then wait for a couple of minutes , then another 8 steps or so and wait again.  It was really annoying.  The flight attendants were waiting until eveyone was seated before letting more people on the plane apparently.  I hadn't seen that before. It took about 15 minutes to get through the tunnel.

Once we landed in Puerto Rico we just grabbed our bags and headed out of the airport, no security, no customs, nothing.  Must be because we flew from Miami and they trust their security, I am not sure, but Kearie  didn't get a stamp and she was annoyed.  I rarely get stamps anymore, now Europe is mostly open boarders, I did get one from Russia though, if I remember correctly.  It is def not open boarders...

We ordered an Uber and the driver didn't even get out of his car to get our bags, Kearie had to load them in.  I tried to get in the back and  he had the passenger seat right back and reclinded all the way. I looked at him and asked "Do  I get in here. He pulled the seat forward a bit but left it reclined all the way.  I think he sleeps between hires and is too lazy to put the seat beck in position.  So he leans over and moves it, still reclined in a bit.  I  managed to climb over it, sort  of and then Kearie was also struggling to get past it.  So he then leans over and moves  it forward a bit.  Honestly I was not impressed.  I told Kearie no tip for him, and I wanted to give him a bad review, it is the only way they learn. But she gave him a 3 out of 5 and didn't do comments.  At least that is what she told me, she probably gave him a 5 and a tip, she is way to sweet and kind.  He was an a'hole.

Once we arrived in the old town, at our accommodation, Kearie had to leave me with the luggage while she did a 4 minute walk up the road to check in, at a distant building.  It reminded me  of a place I stayed at in London in 2010, I had to walk up the block to another building to get Wifi, remember that dear reader? Anyway it gave the locals time to tell me how bad the place we rented is and how a lot of places were brought by some Venezualian guy and he doesn't look after them and he just makes money etc, etc.  I got all their frustrations piled on me.  When Kearie returned with our keys we found the place was old, and pretty bare etc, but as we are only here for 3 nights we can cope.  I have slept in worse places, it has air con and a small kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.  We will be fine.

Until, this morning when we woke to no electricity, it has somehow gone out this morning and we are still trying to contact management, you know, the guys down the road and around the corner, 4 minutes walk away, yeah them.  No luck so far, so may be a quick wash before we head out to confront them head on...

Still San Juan looks pretty, I will post a couple of pics from our door.
