Puerto Rico Day 2

We started a little late, our sleep schedules are all over the place.  but we did start, and that's a blessing.  I needed a post office, so we headed there  first up, only a 5 minute walk.

Kearie has never been to Walmart and so we decided to go have a look, I have been to one in Michigan with my friend Mary Ann, so I was fine.  It was quite a hike, so we decided to Uber it. Kearie was really amused when she got the message to say the driver was arriving. See pic.

You know, and I know and so does she that in Spanish the letter J is pronounced as a H.  So his name is pronounced Heyzus (kind of). but she was adament she was the first to hear of the second coming.  She snapped a screen shot and sent it to her sister.... So if you were not in San Juan at about 12 pm, sorry you missed it.

We arrived at Walmart and she was rather diasppointed, not sure what she expected, but it was a let down apparently.  Though I did think the ones in Michigan were a bit bigger and perhaps better.  We did grab lunch there though and although the guy tried to make me get in the back of the line, I was the head of, not sure why he missed a little fat white woman in the middle of the larger darker skinned gents in the line, it is beyond me.  But we settled the matter and we had a rather enjoyable lazagne and some wedges.

We spent time wandering the streets back in the old town and I noticed they also like a bit of risque stuff.

The things they sell...

We then went to the second fort that Karen, my Puerto Rican friend suggested, but it was already closed for the day.  So we will have to try to fit that in when we get back in a week.  I took some pics of the outside though

One thing that suprprised us is that universally it is normal for the police to flash red and blue lights on their vehicles, here they are blue and green.  Haven't seen that before.

On a brighter note, we had electricy all day and the water did come back on in the early morning, so that was great.  We played more Pony Canasta in the evening and we both won one for a change. So a good end to the day.

Talk again soon.
