Starting our adventure

Hi everyone.  Well here I am on another adventure.  Kearie and I are now in the Bahamas.  As she says, it only took , two flights, two ubers a shuttle bus and a taxi to get us here.. But I will be looking at having travelled to 70 countries once this trip is over, and that will be enough for me.  No more adventures to other countries.  But I will still go to Scotland to see my friends and to the USA to catch up with my friend there.  Just not going off into the  wilderness alone, anymore.

We left Melbourne on Saturday the 3rd of Jan and arrived in Dallas on the 4th, we stayed overnight and then flew to Nassau in the Bahamas this morning, arriving mid afternoon.  It is still the 4th of Jan, time zones are crazy and can mess with your interior clock no  end.

We travelled staff travel on Qantas to Dallas and we were so lucky to both get upgrades, Kearie to Business class and me to Premium economy.  It is great having a daughter working for Qantas.  I had business class the last time I came back from Heathrow and so I was so stoked that Kearie got it this time and I was going to trade with her if she didn't, it is a briliant experience to have.  Especially when you get it so cheap.

The taxi from the airport to the resort was $35 USD,  for 9 minutes. Which  I thought was outragious, but Kearie tells me to stop comparing prices with Australia, and as any of you who read my blogs will remember I did get badly ripped off by the taxi driver in Bulgaria, which I took on the chin, so she might be right.  But if you don't convert you don't know what you are paying, so it's a catch 22.

We are staying in a lovely resort, and have had a bit of a walk around, we went down to the ocean and decided to have dinner at a restaurant on the ocean,  It  was nice food, but at $100 AUD for 6 wings, a caesar salad and two soft drinks, it was a little too dear for me.

We are back in the room now, we are both pretty tired, it has been a lot of travel.  We have 3 nights here and then on to Puerto Rico for a few days and then we catch the first of 2, one week cruises around the Caribbean, so good times to come I hope.  It is my first time in this part of the world.  The closest I have been is Miami, back in '81.

That is all for today, talk again soon 😀
