Tortola, British Virgin Islands
We didn't get up too early, our tour wasn't until 1.30 pm. So we had breakfast and wandered down to the pier. There were a few shops on the dock, but nothing that grabbed my fancy. I posted yesterdays blog and then returned to the ship
The port
The island is very pretty, but it doesn't have a lot going on. We did the town and country tour and the poor guy had very little to tell us. He pointed out all the other islands that make up the British Virgin Islands, one is owned by a rich doctor, who flies his guests in. Two are owned by Richard Branson and one has a house built on it by Morgan Freeman. That was the extent of the info really. He did tell us the names of the islands, but I can't remember them. Mostly he pointed out the schools and the shops, "On the left is the boot makers, on the right is a supermarket, where you can get all your needs."
The views were pretty
The roads are a bit of a nightmare, people speeding past, overtaking on bends etc. They do drive on the left, like we do, but he kept parking in the right lane, to show us views and things, and people driving up to us, just had to go around us, it was a little weird. Some tooted him, but most just crossed to the wrong side and went around us.
The views were really lovely, it is a pretty island. But it is my least favourite, so far.
We went to a beach, again, and Kearie and I sat at the bar, again. The beach was nice, but so overcrowded, with deck chairs and umbrellas, more than people. I saw a guy in an Australian singlet, with the flag on the front. I didn't speak to him, I learnt my lesson with the British chick.
We returned to the ship and chilled. It was a quiet evening.
I will try to post this at our next port, we don't always get wi fi.
Cheers for now
Lones
